Descripción

(R)-2-Methyl-5-(prop-1-en-2-yl)cyclohex-2-enone is an organic compound that has been shown to induce apoptosis in prostate cancer cells. The mechanism of this induction is not yet fully understood, but it may be due to the inhibition of the synthesis of proteins required for cell division. It also had a significant effect on locomotor activity in mice. This compound has been shown to have acute toxicities, and its phase transition temperature is below room temperature. It can be used as a fumigant and an inorganic acid, and it has been proposed as a potential fluorescence probe for natural compounds.
