Description

A gallotannin found in plants, with various biological activities. Its anti-cancer effect has been demonstrated in several cancer cell lines, mediated by inhibition of DNA replication, proliferation and angiogenesis. Elicits anti-inflammatory, antioxidative and anti-diabetic effects. Recently, it has been identified as an inhibitor of c-Myc in hepatocellular carcinoma and multiple myeloma cells.
