Product Information
6-Ethylchrysene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon that is used as a model compound for the study of redox cycling. The detoxification process involves extraction with supercritical fluid followed by removal of the solvent under reduced pressure. 6-Ethylchrysene can be oxidized to produce catechol-o-methyltransferase (COMT) inhibitors, which are ligands for metal salts that can be used in the treatment of diseases such as hepatoma. The molecular descriptors and conformations of 6-ethylchrysene have been determined using computational chemistry calculations, and it has been shown to exist as two different isomers: cis and trans.
