Product Information
Lithium tetrachloroaurate(III) is a salt of lithium and the rare earth metal aurate. This compound is an optical sensor that reacts to light in a way that depends on its size. The diameter of the particle determines how much light it absorbs and how strong the signal is. Lithium tetrachloroaurate(III) can be used for the detection of copper ions and borohydride reduction, as well as for heterogeneous catalysis. It can also be used as a catalyst for dehydrogenation reactions in microscopy applications. Lithium tetrachloroaurate(III) may be used in uv-irradiation induced gold nanoparticle synthesis, which could be useful for introducing other materials into silicon wafers (e.g., silicon dioxide).
