- 4-Heptyl bromide
- Heptane, 4-bromo-
4-Bromoheptane is a molecule with a chemical formula of C8H18Br. It is an electron donor that reacts with azobenzene to form unsymmetrical molecules. 4-Bromoheptane has been shown to cause influenza in mice and other animals, which may be due to its proton donor properties. This drug also has high concentrations in the lungs, which may be due to its solute properties. The ethyl group on the 4-bromoheptane molecule can form a dipole (a separation of positive and negative charges) that can act as an anti-influenza agent.
