N-alpha-Boc-Ndelta-xanthyl-D-glutamine is a protonated molecule that has been postulated to be the proton nmr chiral and n-terminal homologue of N,N'-dibenzyl-N,N'-dimethylglycylglycine. This compound is an organophosphate with a variety of potential applications as a reagent for chiral analysis. The configuration of this compound is unknown but it has been shown to solvate in coordination complexes and undergo shifts in the proton nmr spectra. In experiments, N-alpha-Boc-Ndelta-xanthyl-D-glutamine has been found to have an enantiomeric excess (ee) of 100%. Screening tests show that this compound may have antimicrobial effects against Staphylococcus aureus.
