Description

1,3-Diisopropylbenzene is an organic compound that is used as a chemical intermediate in the production of other chemicals. It can be prepared by reacting n-dimethylformamide with sodium carbonate and hydrogen fluoride. 1,3-Diisopropylbenzene has been shown to react with metal salts such as magnesium salt to form perfluorinated aromatic hydrocarbon. This reaction can be carried out under pressure or at high temperature. 1,3-Diisopropylbenzene can also be used as a solid catalyst for chemical reactions in a flow system.
