Gigantol is an extract of natural compounds that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and hypoglycemic effects. It has been found to inhibit the production of reactive oxygen species in hl-60 cells, leading to an increase in mitochondrial membrane potential. The antioxidant activity of Gigantol may be due to its ability to scavenge free radicals or inhibit lipid peroxidation. It also inhibits cancer cell proliferation by inhibiting the activity of DNA polymerase, RNA polymerase, and protein synthesis. Gigantol also inhibits the growth of tumor cells by interfering with the expression of genes involved in cell cycle progression.
