(-)-Syringaresinol is a natural product that is extracted from the herb Ganoderma lucidum. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anticancer properties in both in vitro and in vivo studies. (-)-Syringaresinol has also been shown to inhibit toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling pathways, which are important for immune responses. This compound inhibits the activation of ganoderma lucidum extract on basophilic leukemia cells that are stimulated by TLR ligands such as lipopolysaccharides (LPS). (-)-Syringaresinol also inhibits the production of cytokines such as interleukins and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), while stimulating anti-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-10. In addition, (-)-syringaresinol may be useful for treating cancer because it inhibits hepg2 cell growth by inhibiting fatty acid synthesis.
