1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoro-4-iodo-2-(trifluoromethyl)butane is a fluorinated analogue of uracil. It has been shown to have comparable yields with 5-fluorouracil and 5-chlorouracil in diffraction studies. 1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoro-4-iodo-2-(trifluoromethyl)butane has been shown to have x-ray diffraction properties similar to those of the corresponding carbonate salt. This molecule has also been shown to be analogous to uracil in terms of its ability to form hydrogen bonds with water molecules.
