Product Information
aR 244555 is a molecule that activates the transcriptional regulation of cardiac genes. It has been shown to stimulate collagen production in lung fibroblasts and to activate brain natriuretic peptide gene expression in the brain. aR 244555 has also been shown to increase the ejection fraction of atrial cells from isolated rat hearts following an acute myocardial infarct and to improve contractile function in isolated rat hearts with chronic myocardial infarctions. These effects may be due to its ability to inhibit the activity of cAMP-dependent protein kinase A (PKA) by binding to its regulatory subunit, thereby preventing PKA phosphorylation of its substrate proteins.
